NORTHAMPTONSHIRE FA LOWER JUNIOR CUP 3rd ROUND

Clipston Hosted Rushden & Higham United Reserves where Nick Barron was the only scorer managing a brace, 2-0.

Gretton scored through Dave Harding, but this was not quite enough as they went down 2-1 against Peterboro Castor & Ailsworth.

Finedon Volta were in no mood for an away defeat as they beat Kettering Nomads Reserves 3-1.   Leigh Chapman got two and Adam Foster got one for Finedon, whilst, Adrian Hobson scored for Nomads.

In a seven goal thriller, Middleton Cheney entertained Great Doddington, the game was an end to end affair and Brett Greenhalf scored all the goals for Doddington. 4-3.

Milton Reserves just edged it against Northampton Hi Tec Roofline in a 3-2 victory which saw strikes from Simon MacDonald, Lee Moore and Richardson, get them through to round 4.

Punjab United were back to their prolific best as they fought hard to dominate their fixture against Kingscliffe. Andrew Cox added one to his hat-trick as Hassan Mumin, Carvalho (2) and Paul Hetherington all converted for Punjab in an 8-4 victory.

Shaun Wilkes and Gavin Gant scored for Ringstead Rangers as they lost narrowly 3-2 against Cold Ashby Rovers.

Ristee Towers found themselves level at 1-1 at the end of a tight game against Daventry Drayton Grange, but eventually won 6-5 on penalties.   In another drawn game Roade Reserves finished 3-3 against Weedon with goals from Eddie Phelan (2) and Gavin Saunders, a 21 goal penalty shootout followed seeing Roade eventually edge through 11-10 on penalties.

Moulton Reserves experienced their first defeat in weeks as they were humbled away from home, despite goals from Shane Roberts and Adam Cadd.   David Eaves, Stuart Porter (2) and a David Thompson Hat-trick saw Weldon United Reserves go through   6-2.

Rushden Corner Flag with strikes from Tony Graham and Ricky Hitcham, lost 4-2 away at Yardley Gobion.   Finally, Thrapston Town Reserves beat Kislingbury Reserves 3-2, Jon Greenhalgh and Anthony O`Rielly got the goals for Kislingbury.

 

Weldon Skip Hire Premier Division

Brixworth All Saints got back onto the winning trail against fellow strugglers of late Heyford Athletic, beating them 3-1, with strikes from Rick Kimble, Joe Frost and Craig Rose.

Corby Madisons moved up to second and kept the pressure on local rivals Pegasus with a 3-1 victory over Ravensthorpe LB, their goals came by way of Danny McShefferty (2) and John Gribben, Chris Slinn got the reply, Corby Pegasus kept the gap open by hammering Kettering Nomads 7-1 in a top versus bottom clash, their goals came from John Coates (3), Paul Doherty, Paul Simpson, Chwaszcza and Steven Thain.

Harpole beat Moulton 4-2, the away goals coming from Craig Cassidy and Adam Sandle.

Milton lost second place as they were beaten 2-0 by Kislingbury, whose strikes from Greg Ling and Purdy sealed the game.

Steven Church scored for Stanion United as they lost 4-1 at home to Roade.

 


Russell Roofing Division One

Corby Kingfisher Athletic produced a small shock as they beat Wootton St George with goals from Steve Gibson, Kev McGovern and Paul Wright, the Wooton goal came from Michael Ryan, 3-1.

Corby Phoenix lost further ground in the chase for promotion by losing against Welford Victoria, a strike from Marcus Crone ensured a 1-0 victory was accomplished.

Crick Athletic lost once more as visitors Earls Barton won 1-0.

A Dale Lewis strike was not quite enough as James King Blisworth were narrowly bettered by Medbourne, 2-1.

Charlie Wixon and Lee Cotton both got a brace and Marc Ansell and Craig Cotton completed the scoring in a 6-3 win for Queen Eleanor Great Houghton against Spratton, whose goals were scored by, Ben Elderitch (2) and Craig Ferris.

Gary Kennedy coolly converted his penalty, following a strike from Dan Rogers, as Weldon United won 2-0 away at Stanwick Rovers.
 

Keystone Roofing Supplies Division Two

Alan Harrison and Daniel Wagstaff scored as Islip United Beat Kettering Orchard Park 2-0.

Wilbarston hosted leaders Burton United and true to form Burton won 4-0, with Lewis McIntyre (2), G Steward and Marc Jackson, scoring.   Wollaston Victoria kept up the pressure on Burton with a 1-0 win over local rivals Wellingborough Ranelagh, courteousy of a Lee Warman goal.


 

Rothenberger Tools Division Three

Amazingly five away goals from Wellingborough Old Grammarians` Mark Fletcher, were not even enough to take a single point as they were beaten by the odd goal in an 11 goal battle.   Goals from Kenny Simmonds, Quarrie, Paul Fahy, Scott McGowatt, Holmes and Darren Harrison saw Corby Locomotives take all three points 6-5.

West Haddon got only their second win of the season, Ian Smith and Neil Davies scored as they beat Weavers Old Boys 2-0, however this was not enough to lift them from bottom spot as Wilby, Simon Blee and Christian Pavlyslyn, lost 6-2 against Staverton Park Rangers, their goals came from a Michael Christie hat-trick, a brace from Brown and another from Rob Hemus.

 

Division Four

Corby Eagles took on Corby Leaf in a derby match that saw Eagles just edge it 2-1 with strikes from Paul McLarty and Sean Mitchell, despite an away goal from Jamie Cairns.

Elsewhere in Corby, Everards battered Kettering Park Rovers 4-1, George Brown, Dean Gazeley and G Szych getting the goals.

A Paul Caswell hat-trick was the difference in a fixture between CSV United and Corby Rockingham United as the hosts were beaten 3-0.

Thrapston AFC were also beaten at home as leaders Corby Strip Mills held onto a four point gap, with a 3-2 victory.

Tony Walker, Wayne Baldwin, Adam Mode and Karl Clarke all got on the score sheet as Wellingborough Rising Sun beat Northampton Wallace Hind 4-1.

Yardley United won 6-1 at home against Kettering Weekly Vale United, with Luke Hollaway, Lee Stewart, and Paul Raith all scoring to add to a hat-trick from Tom Dickson, the win was enough to take them off the bottom on goal difference.

 

Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier Division

Bugbrooke St Michaels A, failed to close the gap, going down 3-2 in a shock defeat against bottom club Gretton Reserves, Lee Wilson and Harry Ingram scored for Bugbrooke.   Just down the road Heyford Athletic Reserves drew 1-1 against James King Blisworth Reserves thanks to a Gentian Shahollari goal.

In a mid table clash in town O N Chenecks A lost to the odd goal in three to Corby Pegasus Reserves, Scott Grant hit the target twice for the visitors, with Steve Dilley replying for Chenecks.
 

Reserve Division One

Harborough Town Reserves put Queen Eleanor Great Houghton Reserves to the sword in a convincing 4-0 win, goals came from; Ben Barton, Chris Piazza and Adam Manton (2).

Harpole A inched a very creditable victory over Wollaston Victoria Reserves, just beating them 4-3, Colin Mowbray got a brace and Mills and Bulliman added efforts.

Medbourne Reserves also managed four goals in their victory over Finedon Volta Reserves, James Sanderson, Nick Bridger, Mark Wilkinson and an own goal making the difference between the two 4-1.

In a crucial local derby Spratton hosted fierce rivals Brixworth All Saints and despite a goal from Peter Morrissey; Joe Shirley, Geoff Back and Dan Renshaw ensured that Spratton took all the points 3-1.

Steve McMonigle scored for Whitefield Norpol Reserves and additions from Ross Arundell (2), Brett Sandy and Steve Powell ensured they increased their lead at the top, beating Corby Locomotives Reserves 5-2, Gary McBlane and Alan Diamond got the goals for Locos.

Wootton St George Reserves eased the pressure at the bottom, moving up two places as goals from Scott Eason (2), Ben Shelswell and Bruce McDonald gave them a 4-2 victory over Stanion United Reserves.

 

Reserve Division Two

Daventry Drayton Grange Reserves lost to Weedon Reserves 7-4.   Earls Barton United Reserves won 3-1 against Crick Athletic Reserves.   Kettering Orchard Park Reserves were unable to break the deadlock against Islip United Reserves as they drew 0-0.

Charles Hampson and Alex Broadbent scored as Welford Victoria Reserves beat Wilby Reserves 2-0.

Finally; Wellingborough Old Grammarians Reserves lost 2-0 at home against Stanwick Rovers Reserves.
