NORTHAMPTONSHIRE FA AREA CUP 2nd ROUND
Brixworth All Saints Reserves hosted Yardley Gobion Reserves, in the first half Brixworth did not play particularly well against an average visiting side and went in 2-0 down at half time. In the second half the home side came out with all guns blazing and within ten minutes had pulled one back through Craig Rose after the Gobion keeper had deflected a pile-driver. Rick Kimble converted the equaliser from a corner on 65 minutes. Brixworth continued to press and were far stronger than their opponents, Kimble again scored from a corner in the 82nd minute making it 3-2. Brixworth had a fourth goal ruled out for hand ball on 85 mins.
Corby Eagles took on Peterborough Perkins Sports Reserves in a hard fought battle, goals from James McLaren, Jay Burton and Shaun Mitchell gave them a 3-2 victory.

Meanwhile in another Corby
home game, Everards beat Finedon Volta Reserves 1-0 with a goal from Robert
Chalmen.
Deanshanger Athletic Reserves were far too strong for their Harpole “A” opponents, beating them by 6 goals to 3.
Islip United Reserves took on Wellingborough Rising Sun in a close game, Ross Smith scored for the home side, but Goals from Tony Walker and Tyler Amphlett were enough to see the game end 2-1 in favour of Wellingborough.
Gary Chambers got a brace as Kettering Orchard Park Reserves beat Wootton St George Reserves 4-1, Mundhir Sayid and Blayne Chester also got on the score sheet.
Kettering Park Rovers beat Peterborough Sports Reserves 2-1.
Potterspury Reserves scored three against visiting Corby Strip Mills, but goals from Craig Hall, Scott McKinnon, Paul Murray and Marc Bradley, were just enough to see the visitors into the next round 4-2.
Queen Eleanor Great Houghton Reserves were just too strong for Netherton United Reserves as they beat the visitors 3-2, with goals from Tom Caton, Steve Kimber and Andy Myers.
A brace a piece from Rob Crick, Richard Trill and Darren Tebbutt were good enough to put Ringstead Rangers Reserves into round 3 as they beat their hosts Weedon Reserves 6-3.
Welford Victoria Reserves
were under pressure in the early part of this game against Corby Leaf, but they
defended well and soaked up the pressure and looked to be getting back into the
game, indeed, they forced a magnificent save from the visiting keeper on 15 mins,
but Corby then caught them on the break and opened their account through Paul
Braybrook. Sean Finnegan made it two on 27 minutes and two minutes later Jamie
Cairns made it 3-0. By this point Welford were at sixes and sevens and a rout
looked to be on the cards, by half time a brace from Jamie Farrell had given the
visitors a five goal advantage. In the second half Paul Braybrook scored
another and the prolific Cairns completed his hat-trick, giving him ten goals
from three games, 8-0.

Whitefield Norpol Reserves entertained Town League outfit Northampton Airflow Reserves in an end to end encounter, James Ellis got a couple for Airflow, but Norpol took advantage of a brace from Ross Arundell and one each from Jeremy Smith and Steve McMonigle as they stormed into the next round 4-2.
Wollaston Victoria
Reserves lost 2-1 against Bugbrooke St Michael “B”, despite a goal from Gavin
Boddington, goals from Dave Francis and P Mills cancelled the home goal out.
Weldon Skip Hire Premier Division
Due to an away league representative game at Wroxham, Norfolk, there were only two premier games this week.
Kettering Nomads beat Whitefield Norpol 4-1, meanwhile, Alex Bond scored for Ravensthorpe LB in a 1-1 dogfight against visiting Stanion United, and Steven Church got the away goal.

Russell Roofing Division One
Corby Kingfisher Athletic took on Stanwick Rovers, R Hughes scored for the home team, however, goals from Tony Simms and Bill Gates were the difference and the visitors took all the points winning 2-1.
In the other Division One Corby home game, Phoenix thrashed Crick Athletic 4-0, with a brace from Chris Martin and goals from Andy Kyle and Tom Devlin.
Earls Barton United Hosted Bective Wanderers, winning 4-2, with goals from Ian Constable (2), Nathan Sprigg and Liam Knight. Ben Hewitt and Sam Savage got the away goals.
Spratton lost at home 3-1 against Queen Eleanor Great Houghton.
The recently prolific James Konarczak got a brace for Weldon United, as did Stone for visiting Welford Victoria, however, the difference in this game was made by a goal a piece for Weldon’s Gary Kennedy and Steve Brydon as the home team won 4-2.
Sam Holmes scored for
Wooton St George as they drew at home 1-1 with James King Blisworth.

Keystone Roofing Supplies Division Two
Burton United went down 2-0 against Weedon with Edward Phelan scoring, the other goal come courteousy of an unfortunate own goal.
Clipston managed to get three goals against a stronger visiting Islip United, but the visitors took all the spoils as they won 7-3.
Cold Ashby Rovers put Kettering Orchard Park to the sword 5-1, with goals from Ben Sharman (2) Phil Ringer and Matt Line; Dan Darker made the contribution for the visitors.
Finedon Volta entertained Gretton, with John Savage scoring for the hosts, Saul McCracken and John Fursdon, though, ensured Gretton went home with the points.
Elsewhere, Wellingborough Ranelagh drew 1-1 with Wilbarston.
Division Three
A goal a piece from David Johnson and Simon Chester, were not enough to take the spoils for Daventry Drayton Grange as they went down 3-2 at home against Corby Danesholme Vikings, whose goals came from Nathan Bailey, Ben Rodney and Tony Williams.
Great Doddington beat Corby Locomotives 2-0.
Sean Wesley and Karl Guy scored for Ristee Towers and Dean Hadaway got a brace as they beat Staverton Park Rangers 4-1.
Division Four
CSV United won their home battle against Thrapston AFC 2-1 with goals from Alex Blake and Graeme Kidd.
In a nine goal thriller at Wellingborough WMC, Jason Ivory and Marc Redden both got a brace, while Jason Brown and Jim Jameson Jnr got one each in a contest that saw Lee Stewart, Jon Ford and Jamie Burrows score for Yardley United, final score 6-3.
Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier Division
Danny McShefferty opened the scoring for Corby Madisons as they beat Milton 2-1; Tony Walker got the other for Corby.
Paul Simpson got the only goal for hosts Corby Pegasus as they went down 2-1 against Weldon United.
Gretton were easily beaten by a much stronger visiting Harpole 4-0.
John Freeman, Jake Stone and Mark Pankovich all scored as visiting Roade Reserves beat Heyford Athletic Reserves 3-1. Matt Gernon scored for the hosts.
A brace from Mick Matthews was effectively cancelled out by goals from Scott Caswell, Adam Cadd, Jak Collins and Daniel Doble, as James King Blisworth lost 4-2 against Moulton.
O N Chenecks “A” lost against Bugbrooke St Michaels “A” as Tony Ferrier and Luke Allen scored. 2-1.
Reserve Division One
Ben Barton and Kierle both got hat-tricks as Harborough Town beat Spratton 7-0. Dean Humphrey got the other.
Stanion United won 3-1 against Corby Locomotives.
Reserve Division Two
Crick Athletic lost narrowly 3-2 against Daventry Drayton Grange with goals from Mark Taylor and Andy Wright.
Jordan Bailey scored for Wilby as they lost 5-1 against Wellingborough Old Grammarians.
