This weeks
Highgrade Motors Star Award goes to West Haddon for their hard
fought victory over Weavers Old Boys in their Rothenberger Tools
Division Three game.
NORTHAMPTONSHIRE FA LOWER JUNIOR CUP Quarter Final (northants comb teams in bold)
Punjab United were just edged out of the competition as a result of a single goal for David Johnson of Great Doddington, thus Doddington booked a place in the semi-final 1-0.
Weedon were also beaten narrowly as UCL Res side Wellingborough Town Res won 1-0.
In the other quarter-final Yardley Gobion went through against Corby Danesholme Vikings, also by the odd goal 1-0.
Thus the league’s only remaining side in the competition; Great Doddington eagerly awaits the draw for the semis.
Division Four Cup Round 2
A derby game in Corby saw Corby Everards ease into the third round with a 3-1 defeat of Corby Leaf, thanks to a brace for Scott Collins and one for Liam Keen, Jamie Cairns got the Leaf consolation.
In the other round two game CSV United went down and out against Corby Strip Mills 4-1, Graeme Kidd got the United goal.
Weldon Skip Hire Premier Division
Heyford Athletic shared the points with a much improved visiting Brixworth All Saints side, Lacoh Chimponda, Bruno Nyamudzadza and Alex Heath got the goals for Heyford, whilst Rick Kimble Craig Rose and Adam Loftus replied for the visitors 3-3.
Kettering Nomads stayed on the bottom of the table as they went down 2-0 against Corby Pegasus.
A Greg Ling strike against Milton gave his team a 1-0 victory, which enabled Kislingbury to keep up the pressure on local rivals and league leaders, Harpole, who themselves are now two points clear and looking for a second consecutive title. Alex Deakin added to the braces scored by Dan Surridge and Dave Barrick, whilst Craig Cassidy and Daniel Barnes scored for Moulton, the game finished 5-2.
Ravensthorpe LB were able to take all the points in a close contest with Roade, D Fifield got a couple and Luke Spencer the other as they just won 3-2, Andy Priest and James Feasey scored for Roade.
Whitefield Norpol were dominant as they hosted Stanion United, Jay Vieyra (2), Dale Buswell, D Ainsworth and Dave Garrett all converted efforts as they won 5-1.

Russell Roofing Division One
There was a goal-fest in Div One where 34 goals were scored and the top two teams got 14 goals between them as it was a case of anything you can do; Harborough Town thrashed Queen Eleanor Great Houghton 7-0, with goals for Dan Wright (2), Alex McMillan, M Kierle, Matt Gamble and Dean Bates and an OG.
Medbourne were also on form with a 7-2 drubbing of Bective Wanderers, Hat-tricks for Kevin Fisher and Rob Mobsby were complimented with a strike for Rob Thompson for Medbourne, Adam Bushell and Neil Leonard were on target for the opposition.
Spratton put James King Blisworth to the sword with a 4-1 win.
Paul Djeneral got a hat-trick as Weldon United hosted Stanwick Rovers, also on the score sheet were; Kieran Harper, Ian Bell and James Konerczek 6-0.
Peter Durran, Tom Warpole and Nigel Barraclough scored in Welford Victoria’s 3-1 victory over Corby Phoenix.
Wootton St George were also triumphant as they won a close game against Corby Kingfisher Athletic, Gary Shelswell and Mick Ryan struck for the hosts whilst the Kingfisher goal came from Scott Davanna 2-1.

Keystone Roofing Supplies Division Two
Cold Ashby Rovers bettered their visitors with a 3-1 win, Russ Lewis, Phil Ringer and Tom Dunn scored for Cold Ashby and McAlindon put one away for Gretton.
Kettering Orchard Park also won by the same score-line as Dan Darker, Lee Pridmore and Stewart McMichael scored in their 3-1 defeat of Islip United.
Tom Martin and Richard Trill were on target as Ringstead Rangers beat Burton United 2-0.
Wollaston Victoria hosted Wilbarston and treated them to a 5-1 trouncing, Lee Warman, Tom Betts, Finch, James Hudson and Terry Murdin made the score-sheet, and Matthew got the reply.
Rothenberger Tools Division Three
Hilmorton were unlucky as they went down 2-1 against leaders Daventry Drayton Grange, despite a goal for Peter Elson.
Ristee Towers kept up their challenge to the leaders with a 2-1 win against Wellingborough Raffertys, Andrew Pocock and Karl Guy got the goals for Towers.
Staverton Park Rangers and Wilby shared the points in a 0-0 draw.
Colin Wingrove scored for Weavers Old Boys as his team lost 2-1 to West Haddon.
Wellingborough Old Grammarians were just able to take all the points against Corby Locomotives, Dan Bendon, P Nimmo, Mark Fletcher and Dan O`Rielly were on target for OG, whilst J Mackie (2) and Kenny Simons scored for Locos 4-3.
Division Four
Corby Eagles showed why they are top of the table with a 5-2 mauling of third placed Wellingborough Rising Sun, Alan Green got a brace and Paul McLarty, Andrew Friel and Kyle Promubol added goals, Wayne Baldwin and Karl Clarke got the Rising Sun goals.
Thrapston AFC went down 3-0 against Kettering Park Rovers.
Yardley United hosted Wellingborough WMC and despite efforts for Tommy Dickson and Jason Mothersole they were beaten 4-2 as Jay Ivory (2), Jim Jameson Jnr and Mark Gater scored for Wellingborough.
Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier Division
Corby Madisons Res won 2-1 against Bugbrooke St Michaels A.
Corby Pegasus Res went down 2-0 against Kettering Nomads Res with an OG and a strike for Power.
Gretton Res were well beaten by top club Weldon United Res, David Thompson (2), Austen Milne and Sean Fraser got the away goals, whilst G Donnelly got the Gretton goal.
Neil Ryall scored for James King Blisworth Res as they drew 1-1 with Heyford Athletic Res, Anthony O`Rielly also scored in a 1-1 draw between Kislingbury Res and Milton Res.
O N Chenecks A were just pipped as John Smith’s goal was bettered by strikes for Roade Res` Liam Chamberlain and Jon Freeman.
Reserve
Division One
A recent recovery for Brixworth All Saints was short lived as they were beaten by local rivals Spratton Res, Dan Shaw and James Stryjek scored for Brixworth, but braces each for Sean Conapo and Joe Shirley sealed the victory 4-2.
Bugbrooke St Michael B were victorious over Ringstead Rangers Res 2-0.
Corby Locomotives Res were visited by table toppers Whitefield Norpol Res and were showed up by a strong side as Adam Wittich-Jackson, Ross Arundel (3), Jeremy Smith (2), Martyn Fletcher (2), Wayne Spicer and Matthew Jones all scored as Locos were humbled 10-0.
Neal Piggott got the goal for Finedon Volta Res as they were beaten 3-1 by Medbourne Res.
Steve and Paul Kimber got one a piece as Queen Eleanor Great Houghton Res shared the points With Harborough Town Res 2-2, Tom Hillier and Chris Piazza got the replies.
Stanion United Res were defeated by visitors Wootton St George Res 4-1, Joe Heavey and Ben Shelswell got a brace each.
Reserve Division Two
Crick Athletic Res were well beaten 3-0 by Earls Barton United Res.
Chris Meadway scored for Islip United Res in their 1-1 draw with Kettering Orchard Park Res.
Stanwick Rovers Res also shared the points as they drew 1-1 with Wellingborough Old Grammarians Res, Paul Brown scored for Stanwick.
League leaders Weldon United A were prolific as they eased to a 5-0 victory in their game with Danite Sports Res, a hat-trick for James Ferguson and a goal each for Damien Burton and Luke Palmer rounded off the scoring.
Matthew Beston was the only scorer for Wilby Res as they were heavily defeated 10-0 by Welford Victoria Res.
