RUSSELL
ROOFING DIVISION ONE
Relegated Crick Athletic finally pulled a decent result out of the bag with no pressure on them, one time title hopefuls Corby Phoenix were put to the sword with a 4-1 defeat that saw goals for Ben House (2), Ben Simms and Mark Lyons.
Between them James King Blisworth and Earls Barton United were unable to break the deadlock, sharing the points in a 0-0 draw.
Medbourne went down to the odd goal as McGovern scored for Corby Kingfisher Athletic 1-0.
Brett Parry scored a goal for Queen Eleanor Great Houghton, but Harborough Town went one better as efforts for Ash Robinson and Dan Wright made it 2-1 as Harborough kept up the pressure on Weldon United, who themselves have secured promotion following their game against Welford Victoria: After a fairly even start, Weldon took the lead through an audacious lob from Stuart Porter. Weldon continued to press and Paul Djeneralovic headed in Weldon’s second.
In the second half, Weldon sustained their effort and Djeneralovic and Ian Bell finished the game but for one late consolation goal for the home team by Marcus Crone.
