Highgrade Motor Star Award;
This Week goes to Wellingborough Grammarians for their 2-1 away win over high flying Ristee Towers

 

Weldon Skip Hire Premier Division

In a mid table clash Brixworth All Saints played Harpole, the visitors were too strong for their hosts and won this one 4-1.

Championship leaders Kislingbury travelled to third place Corby Pegasus, neither team were unable to take maximum points as David Webb and Andy Wimpress scored for the visitors, Richard Chwaszcza scored one for Corby and an unfortunate OG ensured the match finished level at 2-2.

Heyford Athletic took on fellow strugglers Whitefield Norpol, Paul Currier and Matt Hogg scored for the home team, but a brace from Nathan Muir and one a piece from Richard Slater and Craig McCauley saw the visitors take the game 4-2.

Kettering Nomads were unable to score against visiting Moulton; however two from Nicholas Worley sealed the fixture 2-0.

A classic took place at Roade as the 6th placed hosts took on bottom club Ravensthorpe LB.   Goals from Alex Bond, Anthony Bandy and Richard Humphries, would normally have been good enough for at least a point, but Roade were strong and Luke Chamberlain and an OG had already contributed before Danny Scott-Wade completed a hat-trick, a goal from Mark Drake made the final score 6-3.

In a top, bottom clash, a brace from George Donnelly was not enough to help a hopeful Stanion United as they went down 4-2 against 2nd placed Milton.

 


Russell Roofing Division One

Corby Kingfisher Athletic hosted leaders Harborough Town, and played well enough to cause an upset.   Goals from Stephen Gibson and Kieran Doherty were not quite enough though as Paul Lewis, Adam Watson and DJ Wright made it 3-2.

Ryan Butler was an early scorer for Corby Phoenix and John Sludden also scored as the 2nd placed team beat their visitors Queen Eleanor Great Houghton 2-1 in a close match.

Stanwick Rovers narrowly beat Crick Athletic 3-2 away from home, despite home goals from Darren Herbert and Chris Slaughter.

James King Blisworth and Bective Wanderers were unable to capitalise on their chances and break the deadlock as they finished all square at 0-0.

Tom Cox got a brace for Spratton as they took on Weldon United, Ben Eldred also scored for the hosts, but goals from Gary Kennedy, Ian Bell (2), Graham Clark and James Konerczek gave the visitors the points.

Pete Durran and Mikey Hewitt got the goals as Welford Victoria strolled to a 2-0 victory over visiting Medbourne.

Wooton St George beat Earls Barton United 2-0 with goals from Craig Groom and Michael Ryan in a busy mid table clash.

 

Keystone Roofing Supplies Division Two

Burton United hammered Gretton 5-1 with goals from Andrew Milne (2), Jamie Hunter, Jamie Smith and Lewis McIntyre, the Gretton consolation was scored by John Fursdon.

Lee Jackson and Russ Lewis scored for Cold Ashby Rovers as they entertained Ringstead Rangers in a close fought mid table match 2-1.

Despite a goal each for James Pamplin and Daniel Wagstaff, high running Finedon Volta were able to rely on their current good form as they won 4-2 against Islip United with goals from John Tarry, Pete Jones, Christian Brown and Leigh Chapman.

Kettering Orchard Park Easily overcame visitors Wellingborough Ranelagh, as Dean Walden, Adam Miller, Daniel Darker and Adam Folwell all scored in this 4-1 hiding.

Punjab United fought out a hard 1-1 draw with Clipston in this top of table clash.   Hassan Mumin scored for the Hosts and Nick Barron got Clipston`s Goal.

In a game between two of the bottom three teams Robert Lawrence, Chris Johnstone, and Edward Phelan scored for Weedon, the other goal was an own goal as they beat Wilbarston 4-1 away, the home goal was scored by Peter Harding.

The other bottom three team, Rushden Corner Flag fought bravely against higher placed opposition in an eight goal thriller.   Lee Warmen and Charlie Pipe scored for Wollaston, whilst Matthew Lemaistre, Tony Graham and an OG were responsible for the Rushden contribution, but the real difference was made by the hat-trick scored for the home team by James Hudson.   Final score 5-3.

 

Division Three

Corby Locomotives were put to the sword by local rivals Corby Danesholme Vikings as the home side won by a convincing 6-1 score line.   Paul Kelly got a hat-trick and David Martin, Steve Ennis and Lee Pettegrew also scored.

Ristee Towers were humbled at home as they were pipped 2-1 at home by Wellingborough Old Grammarians, giving them this week the Highgrade Motors Star Award, the home goal come from Gary Rose.

A Michael Christie brace and one from James Cruse were just enough for Staverton Park Rangers to beat Hilmorton 3-2.

Rob Barnett made it five in two games when he scored all of his teams` four goals as Dainite Sports narrowly beat hosts Wellingborough Raffertys 4-3.   Home team goals came from Jamie O’Keefe, Daniel Harding and Chris Smith.

Unsurprisingly, bottom placed West Haddon went down 4-0 when top club, Daventry Drayton Grange visited.

A single goal from Simon Bee was all that was needed as Wilby beat Great Doddington 1-0 in a top 5 clash.

 

Division Four

Corby Eagles won 3-0 at home against Northampton Sapphires, with contributions from Che Promubol, Mark McGinn and Leo Paul.

A brace a piece from Scott Mckinnen and Shaun Lewis helped Corby Strip Mills to beat Corby Leaf 4-2 in a derby match that saw both teams work really hard, Ryan Hayes and Jamie Farrell got the goals for Leaf.

In another Div four derby game Kettering Weekly Vale United also got four goals, Jim Butler (2), Darren Johnson and Jamie Fahey, but this time there was no reply from Kettering Park Rovers 4-0.

Jim Jameson Junior bagged himself a brace, whilst Dan Redden and Jason Brown also scored in a 4-0 away win against Northampton Wallace Hind for Wellingborough WMC.

Thrapston AFC beat CSV United 3-0 and Yardley United drew 4-4 with Corby Rockingham United.

 

Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier Division

A local top of the table clash took place at Bugbrooke as St Michaels “A “ beat Heyford Athletic Reserves 3-2, Kyle Grant and Anthony Payne got the goals for Heyford.

Gretton Reserves lost 3-0 at home against James King Blisworth Reserves, with Farr Curtis and Matthews scoring.

Paul Emery scored for Harpole Reserves in a 1-1 draw against Corby Pegasus Reserves.

Kislingbury Reserves played Corby Madisons Reserves at home with P O`Rielly scoring, but this was far from enough as Joe McGloughan and Will Thompson scored and Lee Genner got a brace to win 4-1.

Gareth Hughes Scored for Milton Reserves in a 1-0 victory against O N Chenecks “A”.

Moulton Reserves narrowly lost 1-0 against table toppers Roade.

Weldon United Reserves beat Kettering Nomads Reserves 3-0.

 

Reserve Division One

Gaz McBlain, Kev McBlain and Dave Brookes all scored as Corby Locomotives Reserves overcame Brixworth All Saints Reserves (Adam Cockerill) 3-1.

Finedon Volta Reserves entertained Harpole “A” in a close contest winning 2-1 with goals from Dan Sartain and Stuart Last, Frank Lawrence scored for Harpole.

Callum Errington scored a brace as Harborough Town Reserves beat Stanion United Reserves 4-0, Jason Vye and James Marks got the other goals.

Medbourne Reserves also won 4-0 at home with goals from Lee Chapman (2), Tom Bates and Richard Moore, when they took on 11th placed Wooton St George Reserves.

Queen Eleanor Great Houghton Reserves had goals from Stuart Schofield and Steve Kinber effectively cancelled out by Conrad Nancarrow and an OG, as they drew at home with Bugbrooke St Michaels “B” 2-2.

Ringstead Rangers Reserves were trounced at home 9-2 against Spratton Reserves.

A Ross Arundel hat-trick was the difference as Joe Battison and Steve Musgrave scored for Wollaston Victoria Reserves in a 3-2 away defeat against Whitefield Norpol Reserves in this top of table clash.

 

Reserve Division Two

Paul Ribbons and Cam Price both scored for Dainite Sports Reserves in their 2-1 win over Wilby Reserves.

Stuart Wright scored the only goal for Earls Barton United Reserves as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Kettering Orchard Park Reserves.

Rushden Corner Flag Reserves took on 4th placed Weldon United “A” losing by the odd goal 1-0.

Five goals were scored as Stanwick Rovers Reserves played Islip United Reserves, Shannon Driscoll, Ashley Lemon and Stuart Gates, scored for Stanwick as they won 3-2.

Weedon Reserves were just beaten 4-3 in a close contest at home against Crick Athletic Reserves.

A brace for Chris Holland and one each for Dan O`Rielly and Dave Sanford were important contributions to a game that saw Wellingborough Old Grammarians Reserves beat Welford Victoria Reserves 4-2.
