Cup Final Dates, Venues & Referee Appointments

 


Highgrade Motor Star Award:
Weldon United for their crushing 11-0 victory over Corby Phoenix in Russell Roofing Division One.

 

WELDON SKIP HIRE PREMIER DIVISION

Corby Madisons moved back up into second spot and are the only team still capable of halting back to back championships for the leaders, with a 3-1 away victory at Kettering Nomads, their goals were courteousy of Hill, Lee Sinclair and McShefferty.

Tom Brennan scored for Ravensthorpe LB in their home game against leaders Harpole as LB hoped to spoil the party for Harpole but a brace for Dan Surridge ensured a point next week will be enough for Harpole to clinch a second title win in two years with an eye still on the double 2-1.

Roade conceded fifth place to on-form cup-finalists Moulton, Callum Pallet, Adrian Redmond and Greg Hodges all scored for the visitors as they won a hard fixture 3-2.

Stan Callaghan scored for Stanion United as they were beaten 3-1 by Heyford Athletic.

Finally, Whitefield Norpol pulled off another amazing victory as they beat Kislingbury  6-2.



RUSSELL ROOFING DIVISION ONE

Bective Wanderers picked up crucial points with a 3-0 victory over Wootton St George.

Earls Barton United were humbled at home by leaders Medbourne who climb ever nearer to the divisional championship, but need to keep an eye on the two chasing teams who have games in hand 4-1.

Harborough Town kept up the pressure with a convincing 7-0 victory over bottom club Crick Athletic, who are surely now condemned to relegation.   Danny Wright got a hat-trick and Paul Lewis got a brace, the other goals were from Alex McMillan and Ben Gamble.

Queen Eleanor Great Houghton went down 3-0 against cup-finalists Welford Victoria.

In the days mid table clash Stanwick Rovers lost 2-1 at home to Corby Kingfisher Athletic.

Weldon United went closer in their challenge for the title, with a double figures demolition of one time leaders Corby Phoenix, Weldon banged in an amazing 11 goals for no return 11-0.


KEYSTONE ROOFING SUPPLIES DIVISION TWO

Burton United kept up their challenge in the closest top six battle in the league any one of the top clubs could still claim the title so Burtons 4-2 victory over Ringstead Rangers was a very important result, their goals came from Lewis McIntyre, Jamie Hunter, Andrew Milne and Andrew Lingley.

Punjab United also continued to stake their claim with a 6-3 away victory over Clipston.

Leaders Finedon Volta may have run out of games, but did all they could to keep a four point gap over the chasers and now have to wait it out as the other teams catch up, although their 3-1 victory over Cold Ashby Rovers thanks to strikes for John Tarry (2) and John Savage will have done them no harm.

In the final divisional game, Kettering Orchard Park dropped three much needed points in a bottom of table six pointer as they lost 2-1 against Weedon, with this end of the table just as close as the top points at this stage of the season are crucial for survival.


 

ROTHENBERGER TOOLS DIVISION THREE

James McKay got the only goal of the game as Corby Locomotives beat Staverton Park Rangers 1-0.

Nathan Bailey and Dan Pettigrew scored for Corby Danesholme Vikings as they moved into top spot with a narrow 2-1 victory over last weeks leaders Ristee Towers on goal difference.

Dainite Sports with four for Rob Barnett and one for Dave Barnett were victorious over Weavers Old Boys 5-2.

Wellingborough Old Grammarians fought out a hard game with Wilby eventually winning the contest 4-3, Mark Fletcher (2), Craig Turnbull and Daniel Beacon got the Wellingborough goals.

West Haddon were finally sunk as they went down 4-1 at home against Hilmorton.

 

DIVISION FOUR

Corby Leaf moved up a place with a close victory over Thrapston AFC, Derek Stewart, Jamie Cairns and Jamie Farrell got the goals for Leaf in a 3-2 win.

Kettering Park Rovers also won 3-2 against Wellingborough Rising Sun.

 

DUSTON GARAGE (Bosch Service) RESERVE PREMIER DIVISION

Corby Madisons Res were in dominant form as they put Harpole Res to the sword with a crushing 5-1 victory, Roberto de Stefano, Jamie McKay, Joe McLaughlin, Lee Thompson and Darren Malone got the goals.

Gretton Res stay firmly bottom following their narrow 2-1 defeat against                       O N Chenecks A, Adam Muir got the goal for Gretton, but goals for Gascoigne and Nathan Thompson sealed the victory.

Matthew Gernon scored for Heyford Athletic Res, but it was a mere consolation as they were heavily defeated 6-1 by Kettering Nomads Res.

Kislingbury Res lost the big derby game as Bugbrooke St Michaels A went top with a 1-0 victory.

Weldon United Res were doing well earlier in the season, but seem to have hit a bad patch at the wrong time and could see the title slipping from their grasp following another defeat against struggling Milton Res 3-1.

 

RESERVE DIVISION ONE

In a reversal of last weeks cup semi-final Brixworth All Saints Res took on Whitefield Norpol Res and once more gave a good account of themselves in a close game but the result was the same with Brixworth losing 3-2.

Promotion hopefuls Bugbrooke St Michaels B went down to a goal from Glenn Robinson as Harborough Town Res won 1-0.

James Cooper and Goodman scored for Ringstead Rangers Res as they went down 4-2 against Queen Eleanor Great Houghton Res.

In the remaining games Spratton Res were beaten 4-1 by Harpole A and Wollaston Victoria Res won 2-1 against Medbourne Res.

 

RESERVE DIVISION TWO

The title chase in Reserve Division Two is still a four horse race and is hotting up by the week, all but one of the top four won as the season heads to a nail biting finish.

Daventry Drayton Grange Res were 10-0 victors over Dainite Sports Res, Iain White, Chris Brady, Shaun Turner and Dave Robinson all got goals each and a hat-trick each for Mike Fielding and Ben Oliver rounded off the scoring.

Weedon Res lost 6-0 against Kettering Orchard Park Res, not wishing to be caught out demolished 7-0 to stay top,

Weldon United A built up to the cup final with a good 7-0 triumph over a spirited Crick Athletic Res side.  They went in at half time 2-0 up with two excellent finishes from Andrew Sweeney, the second half was much the same with Weldon dominating and putting the game to bed with a Damien Burton hat trick and a goal a piece from veterans James Collins with a diving header and Paul Crowley for a strong finish. in the other game Stanwick Rovers Res swapped fourth for third with a 1-0 victory over Welford Victoria Res.
