FA Carlsberg National League System Cup - Round One
Cambridgeshire County League v Northants Combination League
PRIDE. PASSION. BELIEF.
Within 5 minutes on a mild evening at Histon FC, Nick Worley hit a sixteen yarder straight at the keeper, three minutes later Nick volleys wide from 8 yards its just does not want to go between the sticks, then against the run of play Ben Murray a late inclusion to the Cambridge team hits the back of the net to give Cambridge County League a 1-0 lead. Not resting on our laurels Harpole's Owen Phillips equalises from a free kick 25 yards out to put the score 1-1.
With over 25 minutes to go that man Worley misses with another volley and wide from 10 yards, just before half time header from Dan Surridge gets cleared of the line.
Cambridgeshire County League 1 v 1 Northants Combination League

5 minutes into the second half sees
another goal for Ben Murray as he toe pokes it pass James Stirling in the
Northants goal giving the Cambridge County League 2-1 lead, which was going to
be short lived as Nick Worley does what he does best and picks the ball up from
35 yards out and runs at the Cambridge defence turning one way then the other
passes the Cambridge full back and slots the ball into the far bottom corner to
get his well earned goal and putting the score 2 each.
Cambridge hit a the Northants woodwork with a 25 yard thunderbolt, but
ricocheted of the crossbar.
With only 15 minutes of the game remaining and pressuring the Cambridge defence Danial Surridge side foots the ball into the net to give the Northants Combination side the lead.
The manager makes his subs to defend the lead, but with 10 minutes left will it go into extra time, no!
