PERSONAL
ACCIDENT SCHEME
PERSONAL ACCIDENT
INSURANCE COVER
The League is able
to help Clubs with Personal Accident Insurance Cover (not to be
confused with Public Liability Cover which is compulsory) and a
scheme was developed earlier this season and details circulated
to all clubs. This is an issue which the League strongly
recommends that clubs take up and at present just over half of
our clubs are in the scheme with others having their own
arrangements.
Under the present
system the cover is provided by The Admin Bureau Ltd, a company
which incorporates Sportsguard which is the trading name for the
purpose of the insurance cover.
The basic scheme
which costs just £10 per team per season provides the following
cover
|
Accidental death |
£2000 |
| Life
Insurance |
£2000 |
|
Permanent Disability |
£2000 |
| Loss
of sight in one or both eyes |
£2000 |
| Loss
of use of one or more limbs |
£2000 |
Once this cover has
been taken out there are various options available which enhance
the cover provided and include weekly benefit where a player or
club official is off work for more than a given period. There
are several options available and Sportsguard will discuss the
requirements of any club and provide a quotation
Clubs wishing to
join the scheme should in the first instance contact the League
Treasurer to join the basic scheme and once this has been
confirmed and the premium paid (£10 per team) contact can be
made direct with Sportsguard to discuss enhanced cover.
The contact at
Sportsguard is Kevin Culley on 01604 644277 although any member
of staff should be able to assist
