Competition: Four Leagues Trophy

Goalscorers - Nathaniel Liburd, Paul Pickering(2), Martin Feasey, Mick Betts.

Due to the recent bad weather our game against the Town league was not only our first competitive game, but the first time the squad had got together.

I was delighted in how quickly the lads got on, and this showed in the warm up. We dominated the first half with Sedge scoring a 30 yards screamer to open his account for this new season. We should have gone in 2 – 0 up, but went in at half time level at 1 – 1 due to a Nathan Liburd penalty. Our next game is against Peterborough in the Carlsbery FANLSC so it was important I got to see other players in the squad, so changes were always going to take place early in the second half. Sedge doubled his tally with a superb header early into the second half from a pin point pass from Birchy. At this point we looked comfortable but it was time to see what else we had and this did effect the scoreline. Before the Town League equalized Rocky had made 2 very good saves, but could not quite get down to prevent the equalizer by Paul Pickering. The next 3 goals came in quick succession with a badly deflected goal by Martin Feasey, a 30 yard screamer by Paul Pickering and one that Rocky feels he should have done better with by Micky Betts.

Throughout the 90 minutes we played good football, particularly in the first half and I could not be happier with the effort each player gave.

Our next game is against Peterborough on Tuesday 10th March at Raunds. The Carlsberg  FA National League System Cup is an important competition to us and one we want to do well in so your support for the game will appreciated.
