Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Star Award :
James
King Blisworth Reserves following their 16-0 demolition of Ringstead
Rangers Reserves.
Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Three 1-1 draws dominated the results in the Premier Division this week.
Milton finally got themselves off the mark and off of the bottom drawing
at home to Corby Khalsa. Ash McGee netted for Milton in reply to an
Andrew Cox strike. The result sees the home side climb above non-playing
Brixworth All Saints on goal difference. At the opposite end of the
table Weldon continue sitting pretty on top after their long trip to
Moulton finished with the same score line. Marc Ansell netted the opener
for the hosts. Heyford remain second with the third of the draws, this
time on the road to Medbourne. Matt Barron’s effort cancelled out an
earlier strike from Medbourne’s
Martin Anderson.
Whitefield Norpol were the only side in the division to record a win.
Jay Veiyra’s hattrick and a brace from Miah Jones set them on the way to
a comfortable 7-0 win over Corby Pegasus.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1:
It is still early days, but Corby Kingfisher, Wootton St George and
Daventry Drayton Grange all took advantage of the leaders Welford’s
failure to beat Kettering Nomads and close the gap to a single point.
The pacesetters could only draw 2-2, while their rivals all recorded
their second wins of the campaign. Richard Price registered two in
Drayton’s 5-1 home win over Cold Ashby. Paul Kelly and Kieran Doherty
were on target for Kingfisher as they eased to a 2-0 away win at
Ringstead. Wootton meanwhile ran out 3-1 winners at Stanwick courtesy of
a Michael Ryan treble. Carlton Ellwood scored Stanwick’s consolation.
Missed chances cost Finedon Volta dearly as Stanion came back to snatch
a point in stoppage time. John Tarry had put Volta ahead before the
visitors squandered a hatful of opportunities. Paul Caswell then popped
up in the last minute to punish the profligacy.
Rothenberger Group Division 2:
Weedon will count themselves unlucky after losing out 5-4 to Islip. Matt
Farrell had hit a brace for the home side, along with singles from Sam
Leighton and Daniel Lloyd. However Islip spurred on by a captain’s goal
from Leo Adams, and strikes from Jamie Fane, Ben Smith, Danny Rodgers
and Danny Wagstaff sealed the points late on.
Nick Taylor bagged two as Danesholme Vikings made it three out of
three for both sides, with a 4-1 home victory against Ristee Towers The
hosts have taken maximum points from their matches so far, whilst the
Woodford side have yet to register a point from their three games.
Bective went down to their second defeat of the season at Old
Grammarians. Dan Bowerman, James Westley and Mark Njotsa all scored as
the Wellingborough outfit ran out 3-1 winners. Strip Mills took local
bragging rights, and joined the chasing pack after their 2-1 derby win
over Gretton. Shaun Muir scored both of Strip Mills goals.
A Russ Eggleton treble for Clipston, saw Burton slump to a second
successive league defeat.
Division 3:
Top met bottom at Wilby and the result went according to form, with the
home side securing their third successive win, defeating struggling
Dainite 4-2. Pick of the home marksmen was Sean Alexis who netted a
brace. A Scott Harrison hat-trick ensured that Corby Everards took the
points, and slot into second place with a 5-2 home win against
Wellingborough Saxons. Hillmorton sit third after a 3-3 draw with Corby
Locomotives.
Liam Hanley and Luke Camozzi ensured that the Ise Lodge juggernaut
continues to move onwards. Their goals in the 2-0 win clipped the wings
of Corby Eagles who drop into the bottom half of the table.
Wellingborough Rising Sun and Wellingborough WMC both recorded home wins
against Crick and Wilbarston respectively. Rising Sun continued their
fine scoring run with an 8-0 win, where Tony Walker struck four times,
and Tyler Amphlett netted a hat-trick. Travis Aitken scored two of WMC’s
goals as they cruised to a 5-1 win.
Division 4:
A Steve O’Brien hat-trick, and solo efforts from Carlos Gittens and
Nathen Scott keep Long Buckby Ravens flying high in first place. The
leaders inflicted a 5-1 defeat on hapless FC Higham.
Another hat-trick, this time from Paul Linnell was enough to give
Walgrave Amber their maiden win of the campaign, 3-0 over West Haddon.
Perhaps rather fittingly it was firepower rather than the flaming
variety that was on show in the tie between Higham Dragons and Corby
Hearth. As it happened the Corby side will be left picking through the
ashes of defeat to salvage the positives. Rob Bradshaw and John
Macmillan netted for Hearth, but goals from John Lawman, Nick Turvey and
Steve Allen took the points for the Dragons.
AFC Wymington continued their goalscoring form, and have notched twelve
times in two games. James Wood, Ricky Maher, Andy Wood, Jay Fallaize and
a cruel own goal swept aside Corby Talisman 5-1.
Meanwhile Kingswood climbed four places with a 1-0 win over
Kennedys.

Premier Division:
Joe Mwaburi was the toast of Kislingbury after his two goals saw them
climb to the top of the table with a 3-1 home win over Harborough Town.
Whitefield Norpol also climbed the table courtesy of a 4-2 away victory
at Corby Pegasus. Weldon stay ahead of them in second place by virtue of
goal difference after a disappointing draw at home to Milton. Dom
Spinelli had put the visitors ahead before Kieran Harper pulled the
hosts level and earn a share of the points. Roade have Ben Ward to thank
for securing a 4-3 victory at home to Moulton as his strike proved the
crucial difference maker, after Lee Cowley’s excellent hat-trick had
been cancelled out.
A 1-1 draw was enough to give Harpole and Kettering Nomads their first
points of the season, meaning that Pegasus drop to the bottom of the
pile on goal difference. Gretton and ON Chenecks also recorded their
first points of the season with important wins. Gretton ran out 4-1
winners at home to Bugbrooke St Michaels ‘A’, whilst ON’s held on to
defeat Khalsa 3-2.
Reserve Division 1:
If you’re going to win, do it convincingly. James King Blisworth
certainly did that in their home tie with Ringstead Rangers. Despite
being denied by the woodwork on three occasions, Blisworth proved
superior to their opponents culminating in a 16-0 win. Shaun
Phillips scored six of the hosts goals, and was ably supported by
another hat-trick, this time from John Horton, braces from Scott Rodgers
and Ryan Yates. Neil Lovell, Ian Wake and Jimmy Walker all contributed
singles to the cause. Leaders Kettering Nomads also won in style, with a
9-2 mauling of Bugbrooke ‘B’. Steve Rayner registered three and Will
Newman a double. Heyford
sit second after their 4-1 win at Corby Locos.
Elsewhere a Ben Shelswell double was not enough for Wootton as they sank
to a 3-2 home reverse at the hands of Stanion. Their disappointment will
not be helped by the fact that their other local rivals, Queen Eleanor
got the better of their nine-goal encounter with Finedon Volta to run
out easy 6-3 victors. Wollaston Vics edged out Weldon ‘A’ 3-2 whilst
Medbourne returned empty-handed from their short trip to Brixworth, as
the hosts ran out 5-2 winners.
Reserve Division 2:
Neil Davies, Harri Winters, James Sweeney, and Lee Mills were all on
target to propel Harpole ‘A’ to the summit, as they defeated Stanwick
4-1. Islip remain second despite going down to a 3-1 home defeat to Old
Grammarians. A 2-1
scoreline secured Crick’s maiden victory of the season, and leaves
Drayton Grange still searching for their first point.
