NFA Lower Junior Cup - 3rd Round:
Nine different scorers found the target in the tie between Danesholme
Vikings and Wilby. Nick Taylor, Lee Pettigrew, Lee Martin and Paddy
Daniels struck for the home side, but they were undone by defensive
frailties as Dean King, Michael Davis, Chris Heaton, Aaron Charles and
Gareth Chisholm combined to put the visitors through 5-4. They are
joined in the next round by Blisworth Reserves who defeated Burton
United 3-2. Jamie Hunter netted two for Burton.
These are the only league sides left in the competition as all
sides up against UCL opposition were eliminated. Holders ON Chenecks
Reserves travelled to Gretton and came away with a comfortable 10-0 win.
Peterborough Northern Star saw off the challenge of Corby Eagles 4-0.
Wollaston, conquerors of Long Buckby earlier in the competition made
Bugbrooke work hard for their 2-0 win giving them scares on several
occasions. Irchester too survived several close moments to come away
with an unconvincing 1-0 over Corby Khalsa.
Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Anthony McClear hit the only goal of the game against Corby Khalsa to
maintain the three point advantage for Weldon over nearest challengers
Harborough. Harborough themselves ran out 3-1 winners at Roade.
Kislingbury allowed Harborough to move further away despite a hat-trick
from Craig Macauley. Richard Slater (2) and Miah Jones ensured a 3-3
draw for Whitefield.
Luck shows no sign of changing for hapless Queen Eleanor. A cruel own
goal put paid to their hopes of taking advantage of Khalsa’s defeat to
move clear of the bottom two. Milton secured their maiden win of the
season with a shock victory over Medbourne to close the gap on the two
teams above them. Paul
Lee’s brace secured them the points.
David Barrick scored the winning goal for Harpole in their 3-2
victory, as they made the short journey over the M1 to Heyford Athletic.
Daryl Birch and Mark Drake hit the net for Brixworth 2-0 winners over
Pegasus.

goal. Kettering Nomads won 2-1 on the road at Stanwick.

allows them to close the gap to six points on leaders Danesholme.

3-3 draw with Islip allowed Great Doddington to put some daylight
between themselves and the other teams at the foot of the table. Shane
Richardson grabbed two for Doddington. The game between Ranelagh and
Gretton finished 1-1, and Ristee and Bective finished goalless.

part of their eight goal encounter with Crick winning 5-3.

brace. Luke McAuley also scored two for Talisman. Wymington routed CSV

Flower netted a brace in the 3-2 win for Brixworth over Wootton to
ensure their grip on second place. In three weeks, Ringstead have
shipped nearly thirty goals. Stanion United were the latest side to take
advantage of the Gladstone Street outfit’s colander-like defence running
away with a 10-0 win. Chris Moore scored four and Paul Gallagher three
in the rout. Neal Piggott’s
double for Volta ensured the win over Heyford Athletic 2-1. Another own
goal rescued a point for Corby Loco’s who drew 3-3 with Bugbrooke ‘B’.
Rob Green’s second half-effort secured a 2-1 win for Wollaston over
Queen Eleanor.

to bottom side Dainite, and so it proved. John Dunne scored two for the
visitors who were rarely troubled in their 6-1 triumph.

reaped a bumper goal-harvest in their derby game with Wilby. Mark
Fletcher lodged four, and there were hat-tricks for John Bicknell and
