Russell Roofing Premier Division KO Cup:
Grant Thain scored the only goal of the game for Corby Pegasus as they
knocked out league strugglers Milton. Queen Eleanor found the perfect
tonic for their league woes with an excellent 3-1 win away to Medbourne.
Leaders Weldon meanwhile ensured that the treble is still a possibility
eliminating Roade 5-2. Only poor finishing prevented the manner of
victory from being more emphatic. Brixworth were made to work hard
needing penalties to progress at the expense of Moulton, with the game
finishing 2-2 after extra time.
Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Harborough were denied the chance to move within a point of leaders
Weldon after going down 4-2 at Harpole. Danny Wright and Rob Barnett
twice levelled for Harborough, but Elliot Dove (2), Scott Mills and Owen
Phillips combined to seal Harpole’s win. There were wins too for
Whitefield and Khalsa, both sides who are languishing at the wrong end
of the table. Eddie Still and Craig Cooper combined to put Whitefield
into double figures in the points tally, netting one a piece in their
2-1 success away at Heyford. Andy Cox meanwhile netted both of Khalsa’s
strikes in their 2-1 win over Kislingbury.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1 KO
Cup:
Lee Genner’s double secured Kingfisher’s progression over Earls Barton
2-1. There were also doubles for Eddie Stewart and Marc Cross as
Blisworth cruised to a 5-1 home victory over Finedon Volta. Mike
Pettigrew became the fourth brace-bagger of the round as Ringstead
dispatched Wootton by the same margin. Welford got the better of their
derby encounter with Spratton, winning 3-2.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1:
Carlton Ellwood scored twice as one-time leaders Drayton Grange
succumbed to their second league defeat of the season, 4-2 away at
Stanwick. Cold Ashby shipped five without reply at home to Kettering
Nomads.
Rothenberger Tools Division 2 KO Cup:
George Donnelly was the pick of Gretton’s marksmen netting a hat-trick
in their 6-0 demolition of Ristee Towers. There were braces for Gareth
Walker and Charlie Pipe for Danesholme and Wollaston respectively, but
it was the Vics who progressed, somewhat surprisingly defeating the
Norsemen 4-2. Orchard Park put out Clipston by the same score line.
Rothenberger Tools Division 2:
Dan Bendon’s second half goal was enough to ensure that Old Grammarians
took advantage of cup fixtures to move into second place with a 2-1 win
over Islip. Great Doddington moved further clear of trouble with a 1-1
with local rivals Ranelagh. Brett Greenhalf and Simon Anderson got the
goals. Strip Mills and Weedon drew 3-3.
Division 3 KO Cup:
Luke McIlroy scored for Ise Lodge, but it proved to be little more than
a consolation as Wilby ran out 2-1 winners. Andy Creasey’s solo effort
put Wellingborough WMC into the semi-finals at the expense of local
rivals Rising Sun.
Division 3:
Both Division three games were high-scoring affairs. Corby Everards
romped to a 7-0 home success over Wilbarston. Chris Chalmers, Dan White
and Ross Ginns all scored twice for the victors. Corby Eagles and
Dainite shared ten goals, with a Jay Graham treble helping the Eagles
secure a 6-4 success.
Division 4 KO Cup:
Corby Kingswood were the biggest winners of the day romping to a 7-1 win
over Corby rivals Talisman. The home side dominated the game, wasting
more chances in the first half than Talisman created in the entire game.
Wymington were also in fine goal-scoring from defeating CSV 5-1. James
Cornell opened the scoring for Wymington. FC Higham produced the biggest
shock of the round, dumping out seemingly invincible Long Buckby 4-1.
Jamie Gant netted twice for the victors. Marcus Mabbutt also found the
net twice in Walgrave’s 2-0 win over Corby Hearth.
Division 4:
The two games in Division Four saw no less than 20 goals. John Lawman
got two for Higham Dragons, but Dom Machael (3), Andy Renaldsen (2), Jay
Renaldsen and Dan Barker ensured the points went to Kettering Park
Rovers 7-2. The bulk of the remaining goals also went to one side. West
Haddon were the beneficiaries, triumphing 8-3 at home to Kennedy’s, due
in no small part to the efforts of Dan Lynch, Liam Connell and Alastair
Foote, each of whom bagged braces.
Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve
Premier Division KO Cup:
Jeff Davies netted twice for Milton in their 3-1 win over fellow South
Northants side Roade. Jamie Cahill opened the scoring for ON Chenecks,
4-0 winners over Gretton.
Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve
Premier Division:
Goals from Adam Bushell, Adam Russell and Dave Baker made Whitefield the
new leaders with a 3-0 home success over Moulton. Elsewhere Weldon ran
out 2-1 winners over Kettering Nomads.
Reserve Division 1 KO Cup:
Mark Phillips netted twice as Brixworth did the double, defeating
Heyford 3-2. Anthony Lommond also scored twice as Weldon ‘A’ completed a
miserable weekend for Medbourne.
Reserve Division 1:
Stanion moved up to fourth with a 1-1 draw at home to Blisworth. Sean
McCabe scored a late penalty for the hosts, whilst Dale Lewis got the
visitors goal in the first half. Carl Sharp netted twice for Volta
alongside solo efforts from Neal Piggott and Dan Watts, but it was not
enough as they lost out 5-4 to Wollaston. Corby Locomotives also lost
out in a thriller, going down 4-3 to Ringstead despite a hat-trick from
Paul Payne. Richard Carr got a hat-trick for Wootton who pulled
themselves clear of trouble with a 4-0 derby success over rivals Queen
Eleanor.
Reserve Division 2 KO Cup:
Drayton Grange were the only home side to be victorious in the quarter
finals triumphing 4-3 over Stanwick. Harpole ‘A’ nicked their encounter
with Dainite 1-0, while a Josh Bellamy brace for Weedon saw them home to
a 3-1 success at Earls Barton.
Reserve Division 2:
Jordan Timpson’s hat-trick put Spratton on the road to their maiden
league victory, a 6-1 mauling of Islip. The Crick – Wilby game produced
another goalfest, much like their encounter earlier in the season. Just
like last time it ended in Crick’s favour with a 5-1 score line.
