Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Star Award :
Gretton who extended their unbeaten run to sixteen games.
Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Despite still sitting in third, a 4-0 win away at Milton, and with other
results going their way means that it is advantage Brixworth in the race
for the Premier Division crown. Neil Dolman opened the scoring for All
Saints as they swept the opposition aside. Sean Brennan struck twice for
Weldon as they defeated league leaders Kislingbury 3-2. With games in
hand over the top two, the odds are very much in Brixworth’s favour.
Harborough stay in the hunt after a 4-2 win over Moulton, but it is now
surely a matter of time before their mathematical chances evaporate. Dan
Wright netted three times in the win. Warren Barry and Kevin Fisher
scored for Medbourne as they drew 2-2 with Roade.
At the opposite end of the table, Whitefield enjoyed a 3-1 win over
Khalsa, with Sam Cooper getting all three of the goals. Corby Pegasus
went down 2-0 to Harpole. Josh Winter and Tom Sedge got the goals.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1:
Games in hand could still prove critical in deciding the destination of
the Division One title. Welford appear best placed with at least one
game in hand over the two sides above them, and a gap of just one point.
A 4-2 derby victory over Spratton keeps them in the box seat. Second
place belongs to Ringstead on goal difference alone, helped in no small
part by their 8-1 demolition of Drayton Grange. Danny Jackson, Danny
Tarr and Darren Lawrence all scored twice. Eddie Stewart got the winner
for Blisworth as they saw off Earls Barton 2-1 to stay in top spot.
Kettering Nomads defeated Kingfisher by the same margin with Shaun and
Dan Morris getting the goals.
Rothenberger Group Division 2:
Gretton extended their unbeaten run to sixteen games, after George
Donnelly scored twice in their 3-1 win over Wollaston. Whether or not
this will be championship winning form depends on local rivals
Danesholme Vikings who have two games in hand. The two sides meet on May
1, a game which could decide the home of the trophy. The Norsemen stay
five points behind after they ran out 5-2 winners over Weedon. Gavin
Oliff netted twice for Weedon, but it was not enough as Gareth Walker
netted yet another treble, to condemn the South Northants side to
Division 3 football next season. Old Grammarians could yet steal the
crown despite playing more games than their rivals, as their run in
includes two games against Ristee Towers. A 4-3 derby victory over Great
Doddington ensures that they stay second. Shane Richardson netted twice
for Doddington, but Mark Fletcher got the winner for the hosts.
Ranelagh inflicted Ristee’s seventeenth league defeat of the season to
send them down alongside Weedon. Simon Anderson was the pick of the
goalscorers, getting two in the 5-1 success. There were also wins for
Burton and Orchard Park, 3-1 over Strip Mills and 2-1 over Islip
respectively.
Division 3:
The Everards surge continues with a 3-1 win over the Saxons propelling
them into second place. Chris Chalmers opened the scoring for the Corby
side. Sam Cope scored first for Ise Lodge as they defeated Corby
Locomotives by the same margin. Wilby suffered a cruel twist of fate,
crashing 8-1 away at Hillmorton, just a week after defeating Ise Lodge.
Wellingborough WMC edged out Crick 3-2.
Division 4:
A 5-1 success over Kettering Park Rovers keeps Long Buckby Ravens top of
the pile. It seems that the only thing that will stop Steve O’Brien
scoring this season, will be the end of the season itself as he netted
yet again. His sides title hopes were helped by defeat for West Haddon
against Corby Talisman. The 5-2 result was all the more remarkable as
Luke McCauley – Talisman’s 31 goal marksman – did not trouble the
scorers. That responsibility fell to Alex Williams and Darren Harrison
who chipped in with two apiece. An unfortunate own goal secured a point
for Higham Dragons as they drew 2-2 with beaten cup finalists Walgrave
Amber. Michael Gee scored the winner for FC Higham as they edged out
Yardley 2-1. Finedon Kennedys defeated Corby Hearth 1-0, and immediately
dedicated the win to Dan Smith, who is recovering from an horrific ankle
injury sustained in midweek.

Premier Division:
A 1-1 draw with Moulton allows Weldon’s rivals to close the gap at the
top. The biggest beneficiaries were Harborough who overcame stubborn
defending from Kettering Nomads to win 2-1. Tom Bott and Jason Vye
netted the goals. Kislingbury’s spell at the top must seem like a
distant memory after a 4-2 defeat to Khalsa. Junior Campbell grabbed a
brace for the Corby side. Kevin Richardson opened the scoring for
Harpole as they enjoyed derby joy with a 3-1 success over Bugbrooke ‘A’.
Milton took full advantage to move off of the bottom and ahead of
Bugbrooke with a1-0 win over Gretton.
Reserve Division 1:
A 2-1 defeat at home to Medbourne dented Orchard Park’s hopes of
claiming the crown. Brixworth’s 4-2 win over Weldon ‘A’ closes the gap
to five points, but with two games in hand. Blisworth kept their chances
alive with a 4-0 win over rivals Wootton. Josh Dawson grabbed two of the
goals. Doubles for Shaun Purcell and Chris Donnelly ensured the spoils
were shared between Stanion and Wollaston as they drew 3-3. An own-goal
sealed the win for Queen Eleanor over Bugbrooke ‘B’, while Corby Locos
overcame Finedon Volta 2-1.
Reserve Division 2:
Dainite were brought down to earth with a bump after their midweek
success, losing 5-1 to fellow struggling Wilby.
Wilby close the gap to a solitary point, but Dainite have two
games in hand as they look to avoid finishing bottom. Ryan Dack was the
pick of the Islip scorers with a brace in their 5-2 success over Crick
Athletic.

Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Honours even between Weldon and Brixworth does more for the visitors
than it does the hosts. Brixworth had taken the lead through an own
goal, but conceded late on to a Dominic Johnson strike. Roade meanwhile
enjoyed derby joy with a 1-0 win over Queen Eleanor. Jack Diamond got
the goal. Sam Cooper netted a hat-trick for Whitefield as they saw off
Milton 3-2.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1:
No repeat of the opening day drama for Blisworth as they put five past
Stanion without reply. Marc Cross scored a hat-trick for the Tunnelmen.
Rivals Welford also tasted victory with Scott Goodman getting both of
their goals in the 2-1 away win over Stanwick. Shaun Morris and Craig
Ferguson registered for Nomads in their 2-0 success over Drayton Grange,
while Ringstead comfortably defeated Cold Ashby 4-0.
Rothenberger Group Division 2:
Danesholme’s jack-in-the-box form continues after they defeated Clipston
2-0. They will be buoyed going into the weekends fixtures after leaders
Gretton and second-placed Old Grammarians tied 2-2. Weedon earned their
second win of the season, and moved level on points with Ristee Towers,
after a 6-1 demolition of Bective. Matt Farrell was the pick of the
scorers with four. Ristee slumped to yet another defeat, being gunned
down by a Kane Robinson Brace away at Orchard Park. The spoils were
shared in the derby game between Wollaston and Great Doddington.
Division 3:
Corby Eagles stay a single point ahead of rivals Everards after their
respective wins. The Eagles romped to a 7-1 success at Wilby, while
Everards enjoyed derby victory over the Locomotives 4-0. Scott Harrison
grabbed a brace.
Division 4:
The 2-2 draw between West Haddon and Wymington means that we are still
no closer to discovering who will mount the most meaningful challenge to
champions-elect Long Buckby Ravens. Wymington hold the advantage by
virtue of games in hand. Cup
winners FC Higham came back to earth with a bump, as Luke McCauley
snatched four of Talisman’s goals in their 5-1 win.
Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier
Division:
Harborough had their goalkeeper to thank for ensuring they won 1-0
against Milton, as he saved a late penalty to deny the visitors a share
of the points. Matt Atkinson
struck the winner for Roade as they upset second-placed Whitefield 2-1.
Reserve Division 1:
Craig O’Connor and Sean McCabe both scored for Stanion in their 2-0 win
over Queen Eleanor. Post cup-final fatigue seemed to have struck
Brixworth who could only manage a goalless draw with Wootton.

Duston
Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier Division:
Weldon took
full advantage of Whitefield’s goalless draw with Harpole to open up a
six-point gap with a 5-0 victory over Roade. Mark Bradley struck three
times, and Dereck Simmonds twice to secure the points and eliminate
their opponents from the title picture. Matty Graham’s solo effort
secured a vital win for Gretton over Moulton and moved them clear of the
bottom. Meanwhile Bugbrooke ‘A’s position looks increasingly precarious
after a 3-0 defeat to Khalsa. The Badgers have played three games more
than Milton, the team immediately below them, with the gap just two
points.
Reserve Division 1:
David
Hamilton scored three and there were also goals for Lee Bell and James
Ferguson as Weldon secured a tight 5-4 win over Ringstead. Heyford’s
mathematical chance of securing championship glory evaporated with a
dour stalemate at home to mid-table Wollaston, while Corby Locos and
Finedon Volta also finished goalless.
Reserve Division 2:
Dan Sneath
scored the only goal of the game to give Dainite a welcome 1-0 victory
over Islip. The Leicestershire outfit need just three more points from
their games in hand to condemn Wilby to the wooden spoon.
