Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Star Award :
Gretton who earned their third win in eight days, including victory in
the Division Two Cup final.
Russell
Roofing Premier Division Cup:
Ash Magee brought some cheer to Milton as they put their league
struggles aside with a fine 4-2 win over local rivals Kislingbury. His
hat-trick crowned the win in fine style.
Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Seen by some as a title decider, the Brixworth-Weldon tie lived up to
expectations. In the end it was Weldon who took the points through
Dominic Johnson and Michael Chong to ascend to the summit once again.
Brixworth still have two games in hand, but need the leaders to drop
points in one of their remaining games if they are to snatch the crown
from their heads. Weldon may be in charge at the moment, but their
mid-season wobbles prove that it is not over yet. Adam Watson netted the
winner for Harborough who over came Queen Eleanor 3-2, to move third,
while Roade occupy fourth after taking all three points with a 3-1 win
on the short trip to Whitefield. Fellow strugglers Pegasus entertained
Medbourne and will be pleased with a 3-2 win as they look to catch
Milton and Queen Eleanor.
Jack Collins struck for Moulton to give them a surprise 2-1 win over
Harpole.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1:
Lester Nunley’s late goal earned the 2-1 win for Ringstead over
Kettering Nomads and moves the East Northants side top of the table.
Welford wasted the chance to go top themselves after drawing 3-3 with
hosts Finedon Volta. Ash Smith, Mike Hawkins and Graham Southgate netted
for the home side, with Scott Goodman, Seb Seward and Mark Edge hitting
the replies. Spratton and Stanion both won to boost their survival
chances. Spratton recorded a 2-0 win over Stanwick, while Brad Phillips’
solo effort earned the 1-0 win for Stanion over Earls Barton.
Lee Sinclair was also the lone marksman, netting for Kingfisher
in their 1-0 success over Drayton Grange.
Rothenberger Group Division 2:
The double is within Gretton’s grasp. The Villagers showed no sign of
fatigue after their midweek cup final success as they swept aside
relegated Weedon 7-0. George Donnelly and John Fursden were the pick of
the scorers, each netting twice. A 4-2 win over Islip ensures that
Ranelagh stay in with a mathematical chance of beating Gretton for at
least another week. The same can be said for Old Grammarians, but their
goalless draw with Orchard Park means that where once they were
contenders they are now also-rans. Although safe from the drop, Bective
and Corby Strip Mills continue to languish at the wrong end of the table
after respective heavy defeats. Captain Jamie Hunter opened the scoring
for Burton United as they cruised to a 4-0 win at Bective, while Great
Doddington romped to a 6-2 success over Strip Mills. Brett Greenhalf and
Shane Richardson both scored twice. Wollaston’s leaky defence again
proved their demise, as Clispton edged the tie 4-3. Wollaston have now
shipped 21 goals in their last five games.
Division 3:
Sam Cope netted two for Ise Lodge as they saw off Rising Sun 3-0.
Everards remain in the driving seat after their 2-0 win over rivals
Eagles. Dan White netted both goals for the Corby outfit who are two
points off the top with a game in hand. A 2-2 draw with cup winners
Saxons benefitted Crick in their fight against the drop. Avoiding defeat
was paramount to keep up the pressure on Wilbarston and Dainite. Darren
Herbert netted the equaliser for Crick. The fates were against cup
runners-up Wilby once again as Corby Locos ran out 7-3 victors. Connor
Hartwell netted twice in consolation for Wilby. Wellingborough WMC lost
out 3-2 to Hillmorton.
Division 4:
Long Buckby Ravens became Division 4 champions with victory over
Walgrave, and West Haddon’s defeat at FC Higham. Ryan Grant scored two
of the goals in the 5-2 success. Attention now switches to the Area Cup
Final as the Ravens look to secure the double in their maiden season.
Jimmy Gant scored a brace for FC Higham who defeated lacklustre West
Haddon 4-2, to hand the Ravens the trophy. Despite sitting in fourth,
Wymington remain best placed to secure second by virtue of games in
hand. James Wood was another brace-bagger as his side snatched a 5-3 win
away at Yardley. Kingswood defeated Kettering Park Rovers 3-0 to ensure
a top-five finish in their debut season. Kennedys meanwhile defeated CSV
3-1.
Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve
Premier Division:
Weldon are eight points from taking the Reserve Premier crown. With a
6-0 victory over Kislingbury they have a five point advantage over
Harborough Town who went down 1-0 to an Adrian Hobson strike for Nomads.
Whitefield’s challenge was effectively ended by stubborn Moulton
defending which ended in stalemate.
Steve Chilton netted two for Gretton who only just held off
Pegasus, who are fighting for their lives at the foot of the table. 3-2
was the final score. Pegasus’ case was aided by defeats for rivals
Milton and Bugbrooke ‘A’. Junior Campbell doubled up for Khalsa to give
them a 2-0 win over Milton, while Nick Howard and John Freeman were the
scorers for Roade, who saw off rivals Bugbrooke by the same margin.
Reserve Division 1:
A 2-0 win over Queen Eleanor
moved Blisworth into second place behind non-playing Orchard Park. Dale
Lewis had a hand in both goals which came in the last ten minutes,
creating the first and scoring the second. Gavin Boddington scored three
in Wollaston’s 9-1 mauling of Bugbrooke ‘B’ who finally succumbed to the
inevitable drop. Wootton defeated Heyford 4-1. Ben Richards got
Heyford’s reply.
Reserve Division 2:
Four, three, two, one was the order of the day for Weedon who thumped
basement boys Wilby 12-3. Gavin Oliff netted four, a hat-trick went to
Chris Cowley, a brace to Rob Punch and singles to Mike Wincott, Edd
Harris and Lee Sargisson. A 3-0 win away at Stanwick ensured that
Harpole ‘A’ secured second place with a game to spare, despite Weedon’s
heroics. Drayton Grange meanwhile defeated Dainite 3-2.

Russell Roofing Premier Division:
Some cheer
returned to Wootton Hall Park as Whitefield Norpol moved out of minus
figures and onto zero points with a 3-0 win. Rivals Milton made the
short journey up the road but went home empty-handed for the third away
game in a row. Anthony Kirby was the Whitefield hero scoring two of the
goals.

Premier Division:
Barnes Gladman struck twice to keep Harborough within touching distance
of leaders Weldon. His brace helped the Leicestershire side see off
Khalsa 2-1. A 2-0 over ON Chenecks ‘A’ keeps Weldon on course for first
place however, maintaining their two point advantage. Sometime leaders
Kislingbury picked up their first win in twelve games, a 2-1 success at
Gretton, doing the double over the Corby side. Roade and Milton drew 1-1
while Pegasus and Nomads shared the points with a goalless draw.
Reserve Division 1:
Brixworth slumped to a surprise 4-1 defeat at Wollaston. Gary Roberts
put the home side ahead to blow the title race wide open. Blisworth took
full advantage destroying Finedon Volta 8-2. Matt Cale struck twice in
consolation for Volta, but his side were no match for the firepower of
the Tunnelmen, for whom both Dale Lewis and Chris Gale netted twice.
Austin Milne struck the winner for Weldon ‘A’ in their 2-1 victory over
Queen Eleanor, while Stanion defeated Locos by the same margin.
Reserve Division 2:
Jack Abbot’s brace was scant consolation for Dainite as they were
thumped 6-2 by a rampant Old Grammarians side.
