Duston Garage (Bosch Service) Star Award :
Corby
Everards who did the double, following up their Area Cup success by
securing the league title with victory over Hillmorton.
Russell
Roofing Premier Division Cup:
Weldon put their opponents Milton to the sword in their second meeting
in three days. Michael Chong netted twice as the league leaders romped
to a 4-1 victory to book a date at Sixfields.
Russell
Roofing Premier Division:
Harborough Town blew the title race open once again. Brixworth had been
in the box-seat after two wins in midweek, but fatigue from these
exertions may have been a prime factor in their 2-0 reverse to
Harborough. An own goal and one from Mike Bass means that the title
could be decided when Harborough and Weldon meet next Saturday.
Brixworth meet Kislingbury on the same day. Kislingbury recorded their
first win in three at Medbourne to reignite their slim title hopes.
At the opposite end of the table Paul Simpson opened the scoring for
Pegasus in their clash with Whitefield Norpol. The 2-0 win they recorded
moves them level with Milton, but still with two games in hand. Jamie
Leah meanwhile struck the winner for Queen Eleanor who defeated Heyford
2-1.
Keystone Roofing Supplies Division 1:
A shock defeat for Blisworth at the hands of Kingfisher means that the
Division 1 race also goes to the wire. Lee Sinclair and Richard McBlain
both hit the target to dent their opponent’s title aspirations, which
took a further blow when news of Welford’s 2-0 win over fellow
contenders Ringstead came through. The two challengers will meet twice
this week with the Division 1 cup final providing a dress-rehearsal for
their title decider on Saturday. The winner of their meeting at
Courteenhall Road will be crowned champions.
Mike Fielding struck the winner for Drayton Grange in their 3-2 success
over Spratton who remain mired in trouble. Stanion meanwhile moved clear
with a 3-0 win over Wootton. Bradley Phillips netted a brace. Stanwick
are also safe, courtesy of a 4-2 win over Earls Barton.
Rothenberger Group Division 2:
The Division 2 championship is now a straight fight between Danesholme
Vikings and Gretton. The Norsemen sealed promotion and ended Gretton’s
sixteen match unbeaten run at the same time, smashing in four goals
without reply. Lee Martin opened the scoring for Danesholme who need two
wins from their remaining three games to take the crown.
Weedon signed off with a point away at Wollaston, with the game ending
in a 4-4 draw, which would have been a 4-3 win but for an own goal.
Ristee also shipped four goals to Old Grammarians, for whom James Daldy
scored twice. Ranelagh also enjoyed a high-scoring win, defeating Burton
5-1. Orchard Park edged out Great Doddington 3-2.
Division 3:
Hillmorton were simply swept aside by rampant Corby Everards who
snatched the Division 3 crown from long-time leaders Ise Lodge. Stephen
Harrison netted a hat-trick and Dan White two as the NFA Area Cup
holders romped to an 8-0 success. Sitting pretty 5-0 up at the break
Everards capped the win with two excellent examples of long range
finishing. Scott Collins finished a strong run by chipping the
goalkeeper from outside the area, while White snatched his second with a
first time strike from 25 yards.
Ise Lodge should have taken the
race to the final day, but squandered numerous gilt-edged chances at
home to relegated Crick. Liam Hanley put the hosts ahead on two minutes
when the Crick goalkeeper allowed the ball to squirm out of his grasp
and over the line. Crick pulled level shortly before half time, but were
immediately pegged back by Luke McIlroy.
Substitute Ian Biart had the final say however, restoring parity
for the visitors with a cool finish 20 minutes from time.
Rising Sun denied Corby Eagles third place after their 3-2 win. Tyler
Amphlett scored twice to secure the win for the Wellingborough side.
Rivals Saxons also signed off with a win, thumping Rising Sun’s Cannon
Street neighbours Wellingborough WMC 4-0 in their derby game.
Division 4:
West Haddon recovered from the disappointment over losing the title with
a 3-1 win away at Kettering Park Rovers. The win ensures that the
runners-up spot remains a distinct possibility. Simon Williams grabbed a
crucial brace for CSV who edged out Walgrave 4-3. Higham Dragons edged
their derby game with FC Higham 2-1, while braces for Ashley Williams
and Darren Harrison earned Talisman a 4-0 win over Yardley.
Duston
Garage (Bosch Service) Reserve Premier Division:
Tom Bott’s double for Harborough Town in their 5-0 battering of Gretton
firmly establishes them as the only side that can prevent Weldon from
claiming the championship. Steve Scales opened the scoring for Weldon
who also enjoyed a big win, a 4-1 success over Pegasus. Five points from
their remaining games will ensure that they are home and hosed.
Ryan Gilligan scored the only goal of the game for ON Chenecks
‘A’ as they won at Milton. Moulton enjoyed a 3-0 home success over
Harpole, while Roade were the only one of the South Northants sides in
action to win, a 3-1 success over Khalsa. Nick Howard got two for Roade.

Division 1:
Josh Dawson scored a hat-trick to send Blisworth top of the table. Their
6-0 win over Medbourne puts them in control of the division. Brixworth
also won, 5-0 away at Bugbrooke ‘B’. While Medbourne and Brixworth
retain mathematical chances of taking top spot, games in hand
effectively leave it to be decided between Blisworth and Orchard Park,
who meet next Saturday.
Reserve
Division 2:
Dainite missed the chance to move into double figures in their last game
of the season, going down 3-2 to Crick. Champions Earls Barton meanwhile
signed off in style, a 4-0 win over Spratton gaining a modicum of
revenge over the side that inflicted their first league defeat earlier
in the season.
